Strategic acquisition reinforces sustainability strategy and expands the offering to include wood-based modular construction
DZ BANK advises the Köster-Group on the acquisition of a wood construction expert
Brüggemann Holzbau specializes in the production of wood modules and the construction of ready-to-use buildings using wood-based construction methods. The company successfully implements projects in residential and commercial construction as well as in the education sector. The wood construction expert from Neuenkirchen in the Münsterland region of North Rhine-Westphalia employs around 190 people and will complement Köster’s existing wood construction solutions in the future.
The Köster-Group, headquartered in Osnabrück, is one of Germany’s leading construction industry providers in structural and civil engineering and has been family-owned since its founding in 1938. Its range of services includes everything from individual planning to the full delivery of customized buildings in the fields of work environments, living and lifestyle, and infrastructure. DZ BANK supported the competitive bidding process from the initial offer design through to the completion of the transaction, which is expected in the second half of the year.
Responsible on the part of DZ BANK were Benedikt Fischer, David Bechert, Levin Gryla, and Martin Petsch.

In order to achieve our set goals, we are continuously striving to further expand our existing business activities both organically and inorganically, as well as to tap into new business areas. In doing so, we can benefit in particular from DZ BANK’s excellent access to shareholders and decision-makers.
My thanks go to the DZ BANK deal team, who supported the successful transaction as sparring partners, driving forces, and implementers.
