The image shows a prefabricated building module being lifted by a crane in an outdoor setting. The module resembles a container-like structure with wooden paneling on the exterior and glass windows. This process is part of modular construction, where individual sections or units of a building are manufactured off-site and then transported to the desired location for assembly.

Köster-Group

Successful Entry into a growth Market

Strategic acquisition reinforces sustainability strategy and expands the offering to include wood-based modular construction

DZ BANK advises the Köster-Group on the acquisition of a wood construction expert

Brüggemann Holzbau specializes in the production of wood modules and the construction of ready-to-use buildings using wood-based construction methods. The company successfully implements projects in residential and commercial construction as well as in the education sector. The wood construction expert from Neuenkirchen in the Münsterland region of North Rhine-Westphalia employs around 190 people and will complement Köster’s existing wood construction solutions in the future.

The Köster-Group, headquartered in Osnabrück, is one of Germany’s leading construction industry providers in structural and civil engineering and has been family-owned since its founding in 1938. Its range of services includes everything from individual planning to the full delivery of customized buildings in the fields of work environments, living and lifestyle, and infrastructure. With around 2,000 employees at more than 20 locations across Germany, the Köster-Group completes over 150 projects annually and recently achieved a turnover of EUR 1.4 billion.

DZ BANK supported the competitive bidding process from the initial offer design through to the completion of the transaction, which is expected in the second half of the year.

Responsible on the part of DZ BANK were Benedikt Fischer, David Bechert, Levin Gryla, and Martin Petsch.

The image depicts a modern building exterior. The structure has a clean, minimalist design characterized by:

- **Vertical Windows**: The facade comprises multiple windows arranged in vertical lines. Each window has a square or rectangular shape, appearing uniform across the building face.

- **Concrete Panels**: The exterior material seems to be concrete or a similar composite, providing a sleek, smooth look.

- **Central Entrance**: A primary entryway section is visible at the center, distinguished by an orange panel that adds contrast to the surrounding neutral tones. The entrance is recessed, providing a sheltered space.

- **Metal Bars or Grills**: Some parts of the facade have metallic bars or grills over certain sections, possibly for aesthetic balance or functional purposes like sun shading or security.

- **Reflective Glass**: The windows appear to be made of reflective glass, showcasing sky reflections, which accentuate the modern architectural feel.

- **Urban Setting**: The surrounding context appears urban, evidenced by the building's contemporary design suited for an office, institutional, or residential application.

In order to achieve our set goals, we are continuously striving to further expand our existing business activities both organically and inorganically, as well as to tap into new business areas. In doing so, we can benefit in particular from DZ BANK’s excellent access to shareholders and decision-makers.

Nils Köster, Shareholder and Chairman of the Executive Board of Köster Holding SE
