Successful sale of MOSER Trachten GmbH to a group of family offices

DZ BANK advises the shareholders of MOSER Trachten GmbH on the sale of their shares to a group of family offices

Founded in 2004 by Herbert Wirkes, MOSER Trachten GmbH is Germany's leading retailer of traditional costumes (“Tracht“) with currently 40 stores in Bavaria and several online shops, offering customers a comprehensive range of own and third-party brands. The company is based in Barbing near Regensburg and currently employs around 270 people.

The sale of MOSER Trachten GmbH has provided a suitable business succession for the owner family, which will not only continue the company's successful history but also open up additional growth potential through active partnership with the family offices.

The parties plan to work together to expand the store network by opening new stores, increasing the range of own-brand products, and further strengthening their position as Germany's leading retailer of traditional costumes.

DZ BANK supported the entire process from the preparatory phase to the closing of the transaction..

Responsible on the side of DZ BANK were Birgit Meyer zu Selhausen, Jan Säcker, Sebastian Baier, and Philipp Haak.

The image shows the storefront of a retail shop titled **"Moser Trachtenwelt"**. The store appears to specialize in traditional clothing, as "Trachtenwelt" suggests it could be a location dealing with traditional or folk costumes, possibly Bavarian style, given the context. The storefront is lit, with large windows displaying various clothing items. The surroundings include a pathway leading to the entrance and some landscaping with bushes and patches of snow on either side. The shop's architecture suggests a contemporary design, giving an inviting feel for potential customers.

Professional M&A advice is essential for successfully implementing a succession. I am glad that I had the DZ BANK Corporate Finance / M&A team at my side during this important step. Throughout the entire process, I always felt very well looked after and advised.
